America thrives and the world is more peaceful when our national defense is strong. The Federal government must finish the job in Iraq and Afghanistan by supporting our commanders in the field and the troops they lead. They must be equipped with the finest arms and armor in the world.

We must realize Ronald Reagan’s goal of a Navy powerful enough to ensure peaceful waters around the world, and agile enough to defend our interests anywhere.

Our security also is more stable when our relationships with our neighbors, Mexico and Canada are cordial, and our support of democracy around the world is sincere. Both friendly and un-friendly nations must understand that America seeks peace but is prepared to defend itself.
